The Chiang Rai Flower Festival takes place annually from December to January, open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. During the festival, a musical performance is held in the park every Saturday.

This year, a new initiative has been launched to improve visitor accessibility with an additional route. Visitors can also enjoy a boat ride along the Kok River, taking in its stunning natural scenery. Boats depart from CR Port in Rim Kok Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province, operating daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This initiative not only enriches the visitor experience but also supports the local economy by increasing the income of boat operators in that community. 

Additionally, the 21st Chiang Rai Flower Festival features a butterfly flower tunnel and a flower house. The municipality has adorned the area with flowers to enhance its visual appeal and welcome all tourists. They also provide an area for a cultural square, ethnic performances, northern food stalls, and diverse culinary options, including tea and coffee shops, all set in a charming riverfront ambiance
