Japanese Village locates on the bank of Chao Praya river, not far from Wat Phanan Choeng. This area was a part of former Japanese village since the reign of King Maha Thammaracha (King of Ayutthaya). There are museums shows about history of Japanese in Siam and the sequence of two nations’ relationship. Moreover, there are the story of village leader Yamada Nagamasa who came from Japan and volunteered to be a soldier of Siam. He served the kings with loyalty until he was assigned as Nakorn Srithammarat governor. One more important person is Maria Guyomar de Pinha (Thao Thong Kip Ma), half blood of Portugal and Japanese. She married with Constantin Phaulkon (Chao Phraya Wichayend). She took the position of cook in the palace in the period of King Narai with title Thao Thong Kip Ma. She introduced many new desserts into the Siam cuisine such as Khanom mo kaeng, Thong muan,Thong yot, Thong yip, Foi thong. Besides the interesting history, you can sit and relax in the serene garden enjoy the nice view of Chao Praya river.
